From Adam on Myspace:
"Dear You,

I've been pretty slack keeping you posted on the goings on in the world of Jawbreaker, so here's a few answers to some frequently asked questions regarding the old group:

1. Yes, the documentary is still on, still being made. The hold up is that Keith and Tim have yet to find a distributor who is willing to pony up the closing costs to finish this thing (flights, editing time, blowing it up to 35mm. etc.). So they are doing this as a labor of love in between their regular gigs and family time. I trust this love bodes well for the finished product. A few months back they came to SF and we got some really great footage with all three of us and Billy Anderson (who worked on Bivouac, 24 Hour Revenge Therapy and a couple one-offs as a producer/engineer). We even played together, but didn't roll footage out of both respect for the sanctity of the moment and fear that we'd suck. Anyway, I have audio of it. Maybe I'll post that some day.

2. A lot of you ask about where you can get the records. Well, if your local mom and pop don't carry them, you can always order them through midheaven.com. They should have vinyl even. If the digital domain is your thing, I’ll paste the links to iTunes and Cinderclock (for swag) below and you'll be a click away to keeping food on my table.

Thanks, and happy winter.

Adam"

Holy crap! A jawbreaker reunion without an audience?
Adam, I'm sure that I don't need to tell you that all of us would really like to hear that audio, and would love to see you guys playing together...

Sad the updates go to myspace now.  Slightly bittersweet I see a snap of it all from a comment.  Oh well.  Grateful nonetheless.

Where did you find that pic?

-- Posted by Your Mom on 12:48 am on Jan. 5, 2008

I would sell my Hannah Montana tickets to see a reunion!  (Yeah right...like I could get my hands on Hannah Montana tickets.  If I had that kind of money/influence, I wouldn't be wasting my time talking to you people).

When the guys got all their levels set, guitars tuned, drum positioned, what are the chances the first song that they collectively played was Busy? Ha ha ha. Doubt they had a "set list" but wonder what era stuff they found themselves playing?!?

Finally, I get to see what Billy Anderson looks like. That man's recorded some pretty bitchin' bands.

-- Posted by kouka666 on 9:22 am on Jan. 7, 2008

what was the reason for recording the audio/video, was it for the doc?

also, was it all instrumental or did blake sing at all?

Hey Adam, would it be possible to throw that song up on mediafire.com or someplace like that?

More from Adam....

"A few "new items" i read mentioned the doc and us playing together. it was a reunion of sorts - we hadn't seen billy a since our last sf show in 1996. but i doubt i'll put up any songs from that recent session. the best one is way too long a file to upload, and anyway, i didn't even ask the boys if they had an opinion - bad. and hey, check out the interview with billy in the blog section of our page - it's a good read, especially if you're into nuts-and-bolts recording tech.

i'm remastering unfun next month wit jon golden. i'll let you know release date later and yes, it'll be available on itunes and all the other usual suspects.

okay, thanks for (still?) listening!

adam"

I'm usually not to big of a fan of remasters, but I think Unfun could be a good one, I'm looking forward to it.  As opposed to the Remastered "Energy" from Operation Ivy, waaaay unessicary.

Blake looks insanely tan, especially for Dec/Jan. reminded me of that leathery lady from There's Something About Mary..

Unfun remaster? Why, Adam, why, says the original master freaks including me.

-- Posted by adam on 12:42 am on Jan. 11, 2008

first off, the original plates for the unfun lp are long gone. i could do it from the cd but that's lame. also, john g originally mastered the lp way back in the day. then he remastered for cd when we went to cd (believe it or not, that's how fuckin old we are. when that record first came out, not that many people -- certainly the "punks" were buying cds). so it's already been remastered. this will be thrice the charm and if i know john, there likely won't be a lot of tinkering with the overall sound (though i always thought it could literally be LOUDER and maybe less compressed. kosher?

-- Posted by jerry curlan on 12:49 am on Jan. 11, 2008

Oh.

*throws away cd, buys original lp*

Any extras on this new release?

-- Posted by adam on 1:23 pm on Jan. 13, 2008

well. it won't be a revisionist/greedo shoots first thing, anyway. and on that, we were NEVER happy with how bivouac was mastered. i'd really like john to get his mits on that one...

I'll buy the remastered unfun, any chance to throw any extras onto it?  I'll even take cleaned up versions of live stuff I already have, those tracks that keep showing up on all the new compilations are pretty stellar.

What's not to like about Bivouac?

PS I really hate that everybody just sends updates through myspace, I don't even consider going there to get news about stuff I like.

-- Posted by drfaustusf4 on 8:10 am on Jan. 15, 2008

C'mon Adam, spill the beans... Did you guys even discuss doing a reunion show?????  Last time I saw you guys play was in Gainesville, FL. in 1996. My friends and I ran into Blake at a Laundromat in the afternoon of the day of the show.

-- Posted by kouka666 on 8:32 am on Jan. 15, 2008

if there are going to be extras, how about some of the demo songs (ie "Rich" & "Down" from demo #1 or "Driven", "Imaginary War", or "Want" from #2)?

-- Posted by locationiseverything on 8:13 pm on Jan. 15, 2008

A Bivouac reissue would be interesting. It is definitely the most misunderstood album in the band's catalogue. I would love to see a proper CD tracklisting.

Cool news. I need to check this forum more than once every few months. :)

We're all getting older. The band still looks good. Don't wait too long for the reunion.

Any update on the Unfun reissue?  I really hate going to the hot topic website :)
